Saint Martin is the smallest inhabited island divided between two nations, the French and the Dutch. The Dutch side is known for its party atmosphere and vibrant nightlife, whilst the French side is the more secluded and on the quiet side.

The island has a tropical monsoon climate with a dry season lasting from January to April and a rainy season that runs from August through December. There is the off chance of a hurricane in the Caribbean, and the season begins in June and runs through the summer into the fall. Otherwise the climate is generally pleasant all year around.

Driving on St Martin can be quite chaotic. Narrow lanes and an abundance of scooters and motorcycles can challenge the most competent of drivers. Fortunately, you can also avail yourself of the Island’s buses and taxi cabs, usually in the form of vans.

Exquisite Beaches are arguably the main attraction on the island of St Martin and the Island boasts 37 of them in total. Boat charters are also very popular on the Island, but if you would prefer to stay out of the glorious sunshine then there are ample casinos and great opportunities for shopping.
