Top Tips for Flying Private with your Pets

If you’ve never flown private with a pet, here are some of our top tips for making it a smooth, enjoyable, and relaxing ride:

Mind their Water Intake 

For the 5 hours leading up to takeoff, scale back on the amount of water you’re giving your pet. This will help ensure that they wont need an emergency bathroom break (read: have an accident), in the sky.

Tire them out 

Dog owners know all too well the sheer amount of energy their pooch can display when they’ve just woken up from a good nights sleep. Ideally, you want your furry friend to be catching zzz’s on your flight, not barking at you to play fetch. Therefore, make sure you take your dog for a long walk before the flight to ensure they will be able to relax in your lap.

Pack their Prized Possessions 

Unfortunately, many animals suffer from anxiety when they are taken out of their usual surroundings. From cars, to planes, being transported will never be an animal’s favourite activity. However, you can ease their nerves dramatically by bringing a little slice of home with you on the plane. Be sure to pack a bag with their beloved toys, bones, or blankets to help soothe their stress away.
