Fly in on a private jet and sip on some bubbly while you get in the mood to rub elbows with the stars.
The MTV Video Music Awards have a party-like atmosphere that draws in millions of viewers and thousands to come in person to watch the red carpet or the show itself. If you're lucky enough to get a ticket, you'll have the time of your life. Start the trip right with a chartered jet flight.
Getting to the Awards
For a long time, the MTV Video Music Awards was held in New York City at the Radio City Music Hall. Then it rotated between New York and Los Angeles. Later, some shows were held in Las Vegas and Miami.
The show is held every August or September, so you can usually learn the location of the next year's show shortly after the current one airs. Once you know the location for sure, start talking to your charter operator about flights and fares. The earlier you can book, the more likely you are to get the flight you want and the airport you want.
Getting Tickets
Tickets for the MTV Video Music Awards are not easy to come by. In fact, even the directors of some of the music videos are not invited to the show but have to compete for the chance to buy tickets to the show.
You'll have to be vigilant and be prepared to pay $450 to $800 for your ticket. If you can't get a ticket when they go on sale, you'll have to be prepared to fight it out on the secondary market and pay even more.
